Your viewshed model is only a hypothesis until you prove it on the ground.
As law enforcement analysts, we rely heavily on digital mapping for Radio Frequency (RF) tracking and Line-of-Sight (LOS) analysis. But a 2D map doesn't show recent construction, temporary obstructions, or seasonal foliage.
Today’s objective is Ground Validation. We are stepping away from the monitors to:
Execute targeted field checks to test our initial analytical assumptions.
Capture site photos to document current physical realities.
Update the RF context based on what is actually present in the environment.
Why does this matter for law enforcement? A blocked line of sight in a digital model isn't just a data error. In the real world, it can compromise the placement of a covert surveillance camera, degrade tactical radio communications during an operation, or skew historical cell tower data during a major investigation.
